Official | Gonçalo Paciência leaves Eintracht Frankfurt for Celta Vigo

After four years in Germany, Eintracht Frankfurt have announced the departure of 28-year-old Portuguese forward Gonçalo Paciência to Spanish side Celta Vigo. Paciência has signed a three-year deal until 2025.

“Gonçalo Paciência has always put himself at the service of the team and has also scored important goals,” said sporting director Markus Krösche. “He would like to play more often again in the future, which we cannot guarantee for him, so together we looked for and found the best solution for him. Gonçalo Paciência will be remembered as a great team player at Eintracht Frankfurt.”

The Portuguese forward scored 20 and created seven in 85 games across all competitions for Eintracht Frankfurt following his €3m move from Porto in 2018. Paciência spent the 2020/21 season on loan at Schalke, scoring one and creating two in 16 games.

With the arrivals of Randal Kolo Muani and Mario Götze, playing time this season would have been hard to find for Paciência.
