Official | Florian Kohfeldt leaves Wolfsburg by mutual consent

Bundesliga side Wolfsburg have today announced the departure of head coach Florian Kohfeldt by mutual consent.

“We continued the analysis of the season on Saturday evening and Sunday morning and in the end we had to ask ourselves how resilient further cooperation would be,” said Jörg Schmadtke. “We came to the realisation that we would be under pressure from the start, which would mean too much of a burden for the team, coach and club. Therefore, in trusting and honest discussions, we mutually agreed to end the cooperation.”

Kohfeldt took charge of Wolfsburg from Mark van Bommel in October and secured their Bundesliga status on April 20 with a 1-1 draw against Stuttgart.
