Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that Edin Terzic has taken over as head coach after the sacking of Marco Rose.
The previous technical director has signed a contract which will see him stay as head coach of BVB until 2025.
Terzic had previously managed Dortmund between December 2020 and May 2021. During this time, the now 39-year-old finished third in the Bundesliga and won the DFB Cup beating RB Leipzig in the final.
Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl discussed their new appointment by saying: “We held several intensive discussions with Edin Terzic last weekend and are convinced that this personnel decision is the right one for BVB. Edin knows our club, the environment, a large part of the team and knows about the adjustments we want to make in order to be able to offer our fans successful football.”
In a statement on the club’s website, Terzic expressed his thoughts: “y now, many people should be aware of the special importance that BVB has in my life. I would therefore like to sincerely thank Aki Watzke, Michael Zorc and Sebastian Kehl for their great trust and for transferring this great responsibility. We will give everything every day for the success of the team and the entire club.”
