Official | Augsburg and Freiburg conclude Michael Gregoritsch – Ermedin Demirović swap deal

Augsburg and Freiburg have today announced the swap deal of Michael Gregoritsch and Ermedin Demirović.

According to Kicker, this is a straight swap and does not include a transfer fee. As is always the case with Freiburg, they have decided not to disclose any contract information whilst Demirović has signed a four-year contract with Augsburg until 2026.

“Michael really developed again last year,” said Freiburg sporting director Klemens Hartenbach. “In terms of frustration tolerance and personality, he was able to make another significant step in addition to the qualities he always had, such as playfulness and the strength to finish. This now makes him a very exciting player for our team and style of play. We’re very happy that it worked out second time around.”

Gregoritsch is the latest attacker to join Freiburg after Daniel-Kofi Kyereh and Ritsu Doan.

Speaking on the signing of Demirović, Augsburg sporting director Stefan Reuter said: “We’re delighted that Ermedin Demirović has chosen to join FCA because he believes this is the best place for a young player to develop. The 15 goals he had a hand in in the Bundesliga last season are just one indication of the potential he has and should continue to fulfil here at FCA.”
