No release clause in Joško Gvardiol’s RB Leipzig contract until 2027

As reported by Florian Plettenberg, there is no release clause in Joško Gvardiol’s contract, which runs until 2027 at RB Leipzig. The Croatian international has been heavily linked with a whole host of top European clubs and could leave the Saxons by next summer.

At just 20-years-old, Gvardiol is one the world’s most exciting central defenders and certainly one to watch for the future. As per the Plettenberg’s report, Gvardiol does not have a specific release clause in his contract until 2027, meaning Leipzig can pretty much name their price for the top talent.

Clubs such as Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Barcelona have all registered their interest in the youngster. During Thomas Tuchel’s time at Chelsea, Gvardiol was considered one of his top targets. Plettenberg also understands that there has been no contact with Bayern Munich for the defender.

Gvardiol‘s agent Marjan Sisic talked about his client’s future this week: “Regarding a possible transfer in 2023, we are not in a hurry and I can make clear that there are no pre-arrangements with any clubs.”
