Former Augsburg head coach, Markus Weinzierl, is one of the favourite candidates to become the new Hoffenheim coach, according to Bild.
The 47-year-old left his position at Augsburg at the end of the season with his contract expiring. A number of other Bundesliga teams have decided to part ways with their coaches which leaves Weinzierl with multiple opportunities.
It’s reported that Hoffenheim are considering Weinzierl as their successor to the recently departed Sebastian Hoeneß.
Weinzierl has managed several teams in Germany’s top flight including Schalke 04, Stuttgart and Augsburg on two occasions.
