Speaking after Borussia Dortmund’s 1-0 win against Arminia Bielefeld on Sunday, goalscorer Marius Wolf discussed the team’s performance that saw them move to within seven points of Bayern Munich.
“It doesn’t always have to be spectacular. We always want to win, preferably by as wide a margin as possible but you must not underestimate how the personnel constellation was,” said Wolf via BVB’s official website.
“I think we did our homework today. We won 1-0 and didn’t concede a goal with a defence that has never played together like that before. I received a great ball from Thorgan Hazard for the goal, and then I’m just stood in front of goal and have to score. The most important thing is consistency, and that’s what we have to strive for.”
Borussia Dortmund’s 1-0 win on Sunday is the first time they’ve failed to score two or more goals at home this season.
