Former Germany international and Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez is set to take on the role of technical director for Red Bull Soccer, according to BILD and Kicker.
This involves strategic planning between RB Leipzig, New York Red Bulls and Red Bull Bragantino. In September, RB Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff confirmed that Gomez wouldn’t take on the role of sporting director at the Bundesliga club, but is a candidate for another role within Red Bull.
Gomez (36) has spent the season working as a Champions League expert for Amazon Prime after his playing career ended in 2020 with Stuttgart following spells at Bayern, Fiorentina, Besiktas and Wolfsburg.
