Malo Gusto an option for Manchester United

As reported by Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Lyon’s Malo Gusto (19) is highly thought of at Manchester United and is one of several options to strengthen their right-side of defence.

Gusto has featured in all but one Ligue 1 games for Lyon this season and has played in 53 games across all competitions for the French side since making his debut in January 2021.

According to Plettenberg, Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong remains an option for Manchester United and Erik ten Hag is also pushing to sign Denzel Dumfries, who represented The Netherlands at the World Cup.

Gusto has a contract at Lyon until 2024 and if the French youth international doesn’t sign a contract extension, the summer of 2023 would be Lyon’s final opportunity to receive a substantial fee for the right-back, should he not sign a contract extension. Per Plettenberg, MUFC bosses estimate Gusto to cost between €30m and €40m.
