Mainz 05 are interested in signing 22-year-old central-defender Patric Pfeiffer from Darmstadt as a replacement for Jeremiah St. Juste, according to Bild.
An offer of around €2m could be enough for Mainz to sign Pfeiffer, who is entering the final year of his contract but the 2. Bundesliga side would still like to extend his contract beyond 2023.
M05 have already signed Maxim Leitsch (24) from Bochum for €3m but are also planning for the potential departure of French defender Moussa Niakhaté, who is entering the final year of his contract.
