According to Ruhr Nachrichten, Konrad Laimer (RB Leipzig) and Xaver Schlager (Wolfsburg) are possible targets for Borussia Dortmund with a defensive-midfielder high on their priority list in the summer transfer window.
It’s unlikely that BVB will make a move for Hoffenheim midfielder Florian Grillitsch, who will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season. A move to Italy seems a likely option for the Austrian.
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund will not sign Ellyes Skhiri from FC Köln, a player whom they showed previous interest in.
Laimer and Schlager both have contracts until 2023 but despite this, it’s unlikely that BVB will be able to sign them on the cheap with contract extensions at their current club still a possibility.
