In his press conference ahead of Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga game against Bayer Leverkusen on Friday night, Julian Nagelsmann is confident that Sadio Mané will find his form again.
“I speak to all players individually,” said Nagelsmann. “In the end, it’s the player’s job to implement what the coach tells them to do. Then he will quickly find his way back into top form and I’m confident that he will.”
Bayern Munich are winless in their last four Bundesliga games and come into Friday’s game against Bayer Leverkusen following their first defeat of the season, a 1-0 loss at Bavarian rivals Augsburg.
Mané has been criticised of late by outsiders but still has the backing of club officials. Speaking to Sport Bild, sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić defended the Senegalese forward.
“Sadio still needs a little time,” said Salihamidžić. Who further added: “I speak to him regularly but I also give him space. He now has to organise himself in such a way that he feels at home in Munich. Sadio is one of the best players in the world. He’ll bring very good performances. We’ll still have a lot of joy with him.”
Mané has failed to score in his last four Bundesliga games.
