Jude Bellingham on advancing in the Champions League: “It means a lot.”

After a disappointing Champions League campaign which resulted in dropping down to the Europa League last season, Jude Bellingham is delighted after Borussia Dortmund secured a place in the knockout stages following a 0-0 draw against Manchester City on Tuesday night.

“It means a lot because we didn’t manage to get through last year,” said Bellingham. “That was one of the toughest moments for me in football so far.” The 19-year-old completed 90 minutes but suffered pain in his ankle after the game: “I took off the shoe to take the pressure off a bit. I hope it will be enough for next game.”

The games are coming thick and fast for Borussia Dortmund and Saturday’s topspiel against Eintracht Frankfurt is an important one for Die Schwarzgelben – three points is a must if they want to keep up with the teams at the top of the Bundesliga with the team currently in fifth, four points behind leaders Union Berlin.
