Hertha Berlin show interest in Alex Král – RB Leipzig out of the race

Hertha Berlin have shown interest in West Ham United loanee Alex Král with RB Leipzig no longer interested in the Czech international, according to Bild

The defensive-midfielder is contracted to Spartak Moscow until 2024 and spent the last season on loan in the Premier League with West Ham.

The 24-year-old is known for breaking down play and his passing ability but found it hard to break into the first team. Last season, Král played just one minute of Premier League football and 45 minutes of FA Cup football for David Moyes’ side.

A few weeks ago, Leipzig were said to be interested in the midfielder but have since decided to look elsewhere with Domenico Tedesco’s side expected to complete the signing of Xaver Schlager from Wolfsburg for €12m.

This has opened the door for Hertha would are reported to be keen on bringing the 31-time international to the club.

Due to the ongoing war in Ukraine with Russia, Russian clubs are under special transfer regulations. This means it remains unsure how Hertha would be able to bring in Král on a permanent deal. A loan move could be more likely if Hertha want their man.
