Cristiano Ronaldo not an option for Bayern Munich

Contrary to reports in England, Cristiano Ronaldo is not an option for Bayern Munich. According to Sport1’s Kerry Hau, there was no meeting with the Portugal international or his agent, Jorge Mendes.

This comes following an interview with Piers Morgan, where Ronaldo said that he feels “betrayed” by Manchester United and is being forced out of the club by Erik ten Hag and others. With this, a fresh round of rumours circulated suggesting that the 37-year-old would again be an option for Bayern Munich.

Daily Mail suggested that Bayern are reviving their interest because of concerns over the fitness of Sadio Mané but per Hau, Ronaldo is not an issue at Bayern. This is also echoed by Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, who states that the Bundesliga side will not sign Ronaldo, because of his age and other plans with the squad.

Bayern Munich currently find themselves four points clear of Freiburg after 15 games. The Rekordmeister’s next game will take place on January 20, against third placed RB Leipzig.
