Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Jonas Hofmann on his future: “As of now, I’m 100 percent playing in Gladbach.”

Speaking exclusively to Bild, Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Jonas Hofmann (30) confirmed that negotiations regarding a contract extension at the Bundesliga club will resume with just 12 months remaining on his current deal.

Hofmann on his future in Glabach: “The fact that we don’t play internationally isn’t the decisive point for me. I feel good in Gladbach, I have already spoken to sporting director Roland Virkus and we will continue to exchange ideas. I think we’ll get together again in the next week or two. As of now, I’m 100 percent playing in Gladbach, I still have one-year on my contract.”

Hofmann on a possible extension: “We will see whether there will be an extension. That will emerge from the talks. The fact is, I can’t say at the moment that I’m definitely going to extend my contract, but I can’t say I’m definitely going either. That will all come out of the talks with Borussia, which are very important to me. And the communication with Roland Virkus and Steffen Korell has been good so far.”

Hofmann on interest from other clubs: “Of course I am in contact with my agent and due to the good performances last season and with the national team, there is interest from other clubs.”

Under Adi Hütter last season, Hofmann enjoyed his best goalscoring season to date, scoring 12 in 26 Bundesliga games, adding to his five assists.
