Borussia Dortmund interested in Timo Werner

Sky Germany report this evening that Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund have shown an interest in signing German forward Timo Werner from Chelsea.

Although no concrete negotiations are yet to take place, Werner’s consultant, Volker Struth, is well known at BVB as he engineered Niklas Süle’s move from Bayern Munich to the Westfalenstadion.

Per the report, Werner’s salary could be an obstacle for BVB. The German international earns almost €16m at Chelsea and would almost certainly have to take a salary cut to join BVB, with Marco Reus being their top earner at around €12m.

Chelsea are not pushing a Werner departure, but would be willing to talk.
