According to Kicker, Bayern Munich are ready to extend the contract of 25-year-old goalkeeper Alexander Nübel beyond 2025.
The Bundesliga champions see Nübel as Manuel Neuer’s successor but the likelihood that they will be in the same squad is slim. Bayern Munich would be open to extending the contract and keeping Nübel out on loan, ideally at a Champions League club.
Nübel is currently on loan to Ligue 1 side AS Monaco until 2023 but Bayern have the opportunity to terminate that loan prematurely in the summer should they wish to do so.
Should they also extend the contract of Neuer beyond 2023, then it’s likely that Nübel will go on another loan in search of game time.
