Bayern Munich: No like-for-like striker on the market to replace Robert Lewandowski

According to Sport Bild, Bayern Munich see no like-for-like striker who could replace Robert Lewandowski should he get his move to Barcelona this summer.

Bayern’s Polish international has been pushing for a move away this summer but is yet got his way.

Should Barca pay the minimum €50m for Lewandowski, Bayern still see no like-for-like replacement for their veteran forward.

The club sports management team had discussed the possibility of João Félix (22) from Atlético Madrid.

However, the Portuguese international, who joined Atlético for a staggering €127m in 2019, is still under contract until 2026.

This means that any sort of approach for the young star would break Bayern’s financial limits.

Bayern’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić does have one potential expectation in mind, however.

Mathys Tel (17) from Stade Rennes is seen as a rising star in French football.

Though Tel would not be a like-for-like replacement, he could prove to be an excellent asset in a few years time.
