Bayern Munich expected to submit Matthijs de Ligt offer as early as Sunday

Sky Germany report this evening that Bayern Munich could submit their opening offer to Juventus for central-defender Matthijs de Ligt as early as Sunday evening, or at the beginning of next week.

Juventus want at least €80m for De Ligt, who has a reported release clause of €120m. The Dutchman has a desire to join Bayern Munich and at the moment, representatives of the 22-year-old have halted negotiations with other interested parties, including Premier League duo Chelsea and Manchester United.

According to Florian Plettenberg and Marc Behrenbeck, De Ligt would become one of the top earners at Bayern, earning between €17m and €19m, should he join the club. The Bundesliga champions are expected to submit an opening offer between €50m and €60m for De Ligt, but it’s likely that a deal could happen around the €70m figure.

A five-year contract until 2027 is also planned with De Ligt already having a verbal agreement with Bayern. A move for the former Ajax defender could reach a conclusion as Juventus have already identified Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly (31) as a replacement.
