Sébastien Haller: “I’m needed and valued here, that wasn’t always the case.”

Speaking exclusively to Kicker, Ajax forward Sébastien Haller reiterates that his move to the Netherlands is not a step backward in his career with the Frenchman top scorer in this season’s Champions League.

“I’m needed and valued here, that wasn’t always the case in my career,” said Haller. “I was in the semi-finals of the Europa League with Eintracht Frankfurt but what I’m experiencing here is a bit higher in terms of the level of competition.”

Haller also hailed Ajax head coach Erik ten Hag as, “one of the best coaches in the world.”

The 27-year-old has scored six goals in three Champions League games for Ajax this season and has also attracted interest from Borussia Dortmund.
