Marco Rose: “We’ll have to play better and more courageous football.”

Speaking at today’s pre-match presser ahead of Borussia Dortmund’s game against Ajax in the Champions League, head coach Marco Rose stated that confidence has been restored within the squad after a 4-0 defeat last time out.

“We’ll have to play better and more courageous football than we did in Amsterdam. The first game really bothered and affected us,” said Rose. “Our confidence should be restored for tomorrow after our recent wins.

“Ajax are a good footballing side who look to dominate matches. We’ll have to accept that there will be phases where they control the ball. If we have possession, they can’t hurt us. That’s what it will come down to tomorrow, making the right decisions in the right moments.”

Rose also confirmed that Dan-Axel Zagadou will also return to the first team squad after playing his first minutes of the season with BVB II following a serious knee injury.
