Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart yesterday announced the contract extension of 23-year-old midfielder Orel Mangala until 2024.
“I’m delighted to remain a part of the VfB family with these magnificent fans. We have a good team spirit and a good atmosphere on and off the pitch,” Mangala told the club’s official channels.
“I feel very happy here and I thank VfB for their faith, which I want to repay with my performances. For me right now, it’s about getting fit as quickly as possible so that I can continue to help the team.”
Sporting director Sven Mislintat added: “Orel’s development over the last few years has been extremely positive. We firmly believe he has all the ingredients to be a top player. We’re very pleased that we’ve managed to tie down a player of his calibre to VfB for even longer.”
The Belgian joined the club from Anderlecht in 2017 and spent the 2018/19 season on loan at 2. Bundesliga at Hamburg. Mangala has played 80 games in all competitions for Stuttgart, scoring two and creating six.
