Official | Lucas Alario signs Bayer Leverkusen contract extension until 2024

Bayer Leverkusen have announced the contract extension of 28-year-old Argentine striker Lucas Alario by two-years until 2024.

“I’ve always said that I feel really good here at Bayer Leverkusen,” said Alario. “The setup at the club is very professional and we want to achieve a lot together. We’ve got a really good team for that. We want to compete in all three competitions this season.”

Alario’s previous deal ran until 2022 but after seemingly ending their pursuit of Zenit St. Petersburg attacker Sardar Azmoun to pursue other targets, it was important to tie the Argentine down to a new contract or risk losing him on a free transfer.

The talisman joined B04 from River Plate in 2017 and has played 131 games in all competitions, scoring 51 and creating 16.
