Official | Bayer Leverkusen sign Ivorian defender Odilon Kossounou

Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen have announced the signing of 20-year-old Ivory Coast central-defender Odilon Kossounou from Club Brugge on a five-year contract until 2026 for a reported €23m.

“I’m happy that the move to Bayer worked,” said Kossounou. “The two years in Bruges was great, especially because of the two championship titles that we won, but the German Bundesliga is something completely different. In Leverkusen I want to prove that I’m a top player and that I can help the team.”

Kossounou has played 55 games in all competitions for Club Brugge and will provide competition for Edmond Tapsoba and Jonathan Tah at Bayer Leverkusen.
