Joshua Kimmich out until 2022 with lung problem

Bayern Munich and Germany midfielder Joshua Kimmich will be out for the remainder of the year after a CT scan revealed a collection of fluid in the lungs, according to BILD.

The 26-year-old underwent routine checks after his quarantine period ended following a negative Covid-19 result but will undergo another lung exam next week.

Kimmich has missed one month after being a close contact of someone testing positive for Covid-19 and then testing positive himself.

“I’m doing very well,” said Kimmich, “but due due a slight infiltration in my lungs, I’m currently unable to train fully. I will therefore do some advanced training and can hardly wait to be fully back in January.”
