Joshua Kimmich on not being vaccinated against Covid-19: “I have concerns about the lack of long term studies.”

Speaking to Sky Germany after Bayern Munich’s 4-0 win against Hoffenheim, Joshua Kimmich discussed his reasoning behind not getting a vaccine after it emerged that the 26-year-old was one of the players not vaccinated against Covid-19.

“I personally have a few concerns about the lack of long-term studies. I’m aware of my responsibilities, I follow all hygiene measures and get tested every two to three days. Everyone should make the decision for themselves,” said Kimmich.

Along with Bayern Munich teammate Leon Goretzka, Kimmich co-founded the WeKickCorona initiative, an organisation that supports charities helping those that have been struggling during the Coronavirus pandemic.

“I find it a shame that there is only vaccinated and non-vaccinated in this debate,” added Kimmich. “There are other people at home who also have concerns, whatever their reasons. I also think that you should respect that, as long as you stick to the measures.”
