Speaking to the media on Wednesday, 18-year-old Spaniard Ilaix Moriba discussed his decision to leave Barcelona for Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.
“I was convinced by RB Leipzig’s plan for me and young players. The vision to develop as a club whilst also bringing on individual players appealed to me,” said Moriba.
“However, it was very difficult to leave Barcelona, I have my family there. Despite that, RB Leipzig was the best decision for me.
“I would like to thank Oliver Mintzlaff and Florian Scholz once more for their work. Without them, me being here wouldn’t have been possible. I’m really looking forward to my time at RB Leipzig, but now it’s time to get to work.”
Moriba joined RB Leipzig on deadline day for a reported €16m, signing a five-year contract.
