Georginio Rutter: “With a good start & a good attitude, everything will hopefully work out.”

Speaking to Kicker, Hoffenheim forward Georginio Rutter discusses scoring on his Bundesliga debut following his €750,000 transfer from Rennes, expectations and settling into life at Hoffenheim.

“I was thrilled by how well the team and coaching team welcomed me, the great atmosphere here helped me a lot,” said Rutter. “I’m very satisfied with how things have developed in Hoffenheim so far and I want to build on that.

“For me, it goes without saying that I work hard and I’m ready for assignments. With a good start and a good attitude, everything will hopefully work out.”

The French youth international scored three minutes into his debut in Hoffenheim’s 4-0 win against Werder Bremen: “It was of course surprising that my debut and my first goal came so quickly in the end.

“After my arrival in Hoffenheim, I deliberately didn’t have too high expectations of myself,” added the 18-year-old. “At the beginning it was important for me to integrate well into the team, to get used to the way of playing and to gain a football in Germany.”
