FC Köln are planning to extend the contract of five players over the winter break, according to BILD.
It’s being decided that Tomas Ostrak (21) will sign a new deal with Florian Kainz (29) and Rafael Czichos (31) will be given new deals provided they would be willing to take a pay cut. Benno Schmitz (27) has excelled under Steffen Baumgart and is also expected to sign a new deal that will tie him to the club beyond the current season.
The Bundesliga side are also planning to exercise their purchase option on 22-year-old central defender Luca Kilian for around €2m, after impressing on loan from Mainz.
