Eintracht Frankfurt priced out of Khéphren Thuram deal

According to Bild, Eintracht Frankfurt can not meet OGC Nice’s valuation for 20-year-old midfielder Khéphren Thuram, suggested to be around €9 million – too much for the Bundesliga side.

Eintracht are looking to strengthen their options in defensive midfield following an injury to captain Sebastian Rode and had identified Thuram, younger brother to Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Marcus Thuram, as a potential candidate for the No. 6 role.

Last week, L‘Équipe reported that discussions between Eintracht Frankfurt and Nice have intensified in recent days with Thuram wanting to make a switch to the Bundesliga. Son of former France international Lilian Thuram, Khéphren has just 12 months remaining on his current deal.

SGE head coach Oliver Glasner confirmed that they are in the market for a midfielder: “We’ve talked a little more about this topic in the last few weeks. We’ll definitely talk about it again in the next week.”
