Eintracht Frankfurt and head of sport Fredi Bobic to part ways

Eintracht Frankfurt have confirmed that head of sport Fredi Bobic will leave the Bundesliga club at the end of the season after an agreement was reached for the early termination of his contract.

The 49-year-old has been heavily linked with a role at fellow Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin, a project that appeals to Bobic after five years at Eintracht Frankfurt.

“The successes we have had during this time fill me with pride. We have changed and achieved a lot. The Eintracht family has grown massively in five years,” said Bobic.

“My particular thanks go to my board colleagues and to all the sporting staff. I would like to single out the two coaches, Niko Kovac and Adi Hütter. I have always been given full backing by the supervisory board, particularly from current honorary chairman Wolfgang Steubing and his successor as supervisory board chairman, Philip Holzer, and I would like to thank them for that. We have always worked together in a very professional way.”
