Borussia Dortmund make contact for Maxence Lacroix

Borussia Dortmund have made contact with the entourage of 20-year-old Wolfsburg defender Maxence Lacroix, according to Sky Germany.

The Bundesliga side are showing an interest in signing the Frenchman, who is enjoying a breakout season in his maiden year in Germany.

However, Lacroix has a contract with Wolfsburg until 2024 and with no release clause, Borussia Dortmund would have to pay a substantial fee to sign the centre-back.

The France youth international has played in all but two Bundesliga games for Wolfsburg this season since joining the club for €5 million from Ligue 2 side Sochaux.

Lacroix has created an incredible partnership in defence with John Brooks which has been beneficial to their Bundesliga campaign where they sit third and just seven points behind leaders Bayern Munich. A return to Champions League football is on the cards.

For Borussia Dortmund, they have a new head coach next season in Marco Rose and have identified defence as an area they need to strengthen in the summer window.
