Sky Germany report this evening that Schalke have opened initial negotiations to sign Arsenal defender Sead Kolasinac on loan. The 27-year-old would like to return to Germany for private reasons.
The problem for Schalke is that they have imposed a €2.5 million salary cap on themselves after being financially damaged following the coronavirus pandemic. Per Sky, Kolasinac currently earns €8m a year at the Premier League club and so an agreement needs to be reached on how the Bosnian’s salary would be divided.
