Robert Lewandowski on Leroy Sané: “We’ve seen what he can do at Schalke.”

Speaking in a video conference with selected journalists, Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski discussed time away from football, playing behind closed doors and Manchester City attacker Leroy Sané.

We’ve already seen what he can do at Schalke,” said Lewandowski, via Spox journalist Kerry Hau.

“There’s a lot of speculation. I can only say that he is a great player who can harmonise very well with his teammates. Not only in the Premier League or Champions League. He could certainly help us find new solutions in our game.”

The Bundesliga returns this weekend following a two-month suspension owing to the ongoing health situation.

German football will resume behind closed doors, with everyone being in the same situation.

“It’s a new situation for us,” said Lewandowski. “We have to accept and get used to it as soon as possible. There will still be millions of people watching, so I hope we will not have any difficulties adjusting and maintaining the quality of our football.”

Despite being in lockdown, Lewandowski has been keeping up his fitness ready for the Bundesliga’s return.

“It’s crucial to pay attention to small details,” added the 31-year-old. “Eating healthy, taking care of your body at home in addition to games and training sessions. I don’t know how long I’m going to play but I want to play as long as possible at the highest level. That’s my goal.”
