Speaking to Bild, head of sport and development at Red Bull Ralf Rangnick believes that RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner would suit a team like Liverpool.
“From a purely hypothetical point of view, I believe he would be better off with a club that aren’t necessarily defined by possession football,” said Rangnick.
“His most important weapons are his movement in counter-attacks and great finishing. That’s why he would be suited to a club like Liverpool, who have a similar playing style to Leipzig.”
The Germany international has a €60 million release clause, which expires on June 15. Werner also revealed that he would prefer to play abroad should he leave RB Leipzig.
