Oliver Mintzlaff on Dayot Upamecano: “We won’t be selling any players under their value.”

RB Leipzig managing director Oliver Mintzlaff has discussed the future of 21-year-old central-defender Dayot Upamecano with interest from Bayern Munich and the Premier League.

We won’t be selling any players under their value,” said Mintzlaff.

“We know when our players’ contracts are coming to an end and it’s out of the questions that any player, especially a key player, will leave on a free transfer.”

The Frenchman has one-year remaining on his current RB Leipzig deal, which expires in 2021. Sky Germany reported yesterday that Upamecano is ready to snub a move this summer with the intention of signing a new contract at the Bundesliga club.
