Bundesliga returnees VfB Stuttgart have announced the signing of Freiburg right-back Pascal Stenzel on a four-year contract for a reported fee of just over €1 million.
The 24-year-old has spent the season on loan at Stuttgart, who earn promotion back to the Bundesliga after finishing second to Arminia Bielefeld.
“Pascal was a very important factor for us from day one both on and off the field,” said sporting director Sven Mislintat. “His positive manner and exemplary attitude was also decisive and for that we wanted to firmly commit to Pascal and to sign him on a long-term deal.”
Stenzel played all 34 second division games for Stuttgart this season.
