Official | Hertha BSC sign Santiago Ascacibar on long-term contract

Hertha BSC have announced the signing of 22-year-old midfielder Santiago Ascacibar from Stuttgart for a fee believed to be €12 million.

The Argentina international finally got his wish for a move away from Stuttgart and has signed a long-term contract with Hertha.

Once the Bundesliga club had made an offer for Ascacibar, the dynamic midfielder made it known that he would like to leave.

“We are very happy to have another very talented player in our ranks,” said sporting director Michael Preetz.

Latest reports suggest that Hertha BSC will also complete the loan signing of Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka with a view to a permanent transfer, but only if Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta gives the go-ahead.
