Werder Bremen have completed the signing of 25-year-old Hertha Berlin forward Davie Selke on an 18 month loan with an obligation to buy.
The Bundesliga club will then pay Hertha a fee believed to be around €12 million, a fee higher than Werder Bremen were expecting.
Newcastle United and Aston Villa were amongst five Premier League clubs in negotiations to sign Selke in January.
