It’s fair to say Erling Braut Haaland has paid off a significant sum of his transfer fee. The Borussia Dortmund has scored five Bundesliga goals in just 59 minutes, his latest a two-goal cameo against FC Köln on Friday night, of which his bosses and teammates reacted well to.
“When he is living the dream, we don’t want to wake him up. He is incredibly ambitious and wants to score every goal in training. He is extremely annoyed when he does not take a chance,” said sporting director Michael Zorc.
Roman Bürki told DAZN after the game: “First three goals, now two goals. I hope it won’t be just one in the next game. He has everything you need. He works a lot, he trains hard. But the most important thing is that he is a smart boy.”
Julian Brandt added: “The fact that he is still young makes it all the more astonishing. He is extremely fast and knows how to use his body well.”
Borussia head coach Lucien Favre also states that he doesn’t think Haaland is far off a starting place, and could even start against Union Berlin next weekend.
