Speaking in an interview with Kicker, Bayer Leverkusen midfielder and Germany international Kai Havertz discussed their upcoming against Borussia Dortmund and the return to Julian Brandt to the BayArena.
“We haven’t played out best football in the last two games, so we have to tackle our own challenges,” Havertz told Kicker. “Our aim must always be to play good football in an offensive manner. That will also be very important on Saturday, hopefully we’ll do better there.”
Havertz on former teammate Julian Brandt.. “I wrote to him on Tuesday after the game. That will be neough. [Jadon] Sancho and [Erling Braut] Haaland don’t play too badly, but he’s the best player at Dortmund at the moment.”
On the upcoming against Borussia Dortmund.. “Leverkusen against Dortmund is always a hot game, even if we haven’t looked that good in the past few years. We are playing at home, that has to give us a tailwind.”
