DFB will not sanction Jadon Sancho, Weston McKennie & Co. for George Floyd tributes

The German FA (DFB) has confirmed that they will not sanction Borussia Dortmund duo Jadon Sancho and Achraf Hakimi, Weston McKennie or Marcus Thuram after they led tributes for George Floyd over the weekend’s Bundesliga fixtures.

Sancho received a yellow card for unveiling a “Justice for George Floyd” t-shirt, which won’t be rescinded as it’s against the law to remove your shirt.

DFB president Fritz Keller: “The DFB is firmly against all forms of racism, discrimination and violence and stands for tolerance, openness and diversity.”

The quartet took a stand against racism with gestures, Thuram taking a knee after scoring and inscriptions, McKennie wearing a “Justice for George” armband whilst Sancho and Hakimi revealed undergarments with “Justice for George Floyd.”
