Speaking after Schalke’s 4-0 defeat at Borussia Dortmund, head coach David Wagner admitted the performance wasn’t good enough and that his side must improve.
“It was a poor performance and we deserved to lose. We weren’t brave enough today. We need to dust ourselves down and improve for next time,” said Wagner.
Goals from Erling Braut Haaland, Thorgan Hazard and Raphaël Guerreiro (2) put Borussia Dortmund to within one point of Bayern Munich, who play Union Berlin on Sunday.
