David Alaba on his future: “I hope that we can find a solution as soon as possible.”

Speaking to Bild, Bayern Munich and Austria international defender David Alaba has released a statement regarding his future following recent comments from Uli Hoeneß.

“I would like my contract situation not to be clarified publicly. Therefore, a few statements and reports from the last few weeks have surprised and hurt me,” said Alaba. “Many of the things that are being written and said at the moment are just not right and not true. I would like to spare everyone involved a public discussion, even if not all the details are known.

“So far, I’ve never really spoken out on this topic because I’ve only focused on our important tasked with Bayern Munich and that was a good thing because in the end we won the treble.

“I’ve been wearing the iconic red jersey for 12 years and I’ve done it every single day with dedication, pride and passion. The well-being of this fantastic club is above everything and is also very important to me.

“I have taken every person in charge, every teammate, every employee of the club to my heart. In a family, you may have a different opinion, you might also argue but it always stays within the family.

“I very much hope that we can find a solution as soon as possible so that the club, the people in charge, my teammates and the fans know where they stand.”
