20-year-old central defender Maxence Lacroix has joined Bundesliga side Wolfsburg on a four-year contract from French Ligue 2 side Sochaux.
Both sides have agreed to disclose the official transfer figure.
Lacroix enjoyed a breakout season in French Ligue 2 last year and made 27 appearances for Sochaux. The 20-year-old has played in various French junior national teams and most recently played two appearances for France’s U20s.
He told the club’s official website, “I’m really looking forward to the new challenge at VfL and in the Bundesliga.”
Wolfsburg sporting director Marcel Schäfer added; “With Maxence we are consistently following our path further, talented, to bring young and hungry players to Wolfsburg who can develop at a high level with us and take their next career step. He has everything it takes to assert himself in the Bundesliga.”
