Borussia Dortmund unable to compete with Inter Milan over Achraf Hakimi

Speaking prior to Borussia Dortmund’s 4-0 defeat to Hoffenheim, sporting director Michael Zorc confirmed that the Bundesliga club are unlikely to conclude an extension for Achraf Hakimi.

“There has been a development in the last few days that the sum in question will be higher. We realised that we didn’t want not are able to compete,” Zorc told Sky Germany.

The Guardian journalist Fabrizio Romano reported on Friday night that Hakimi to Inter Milan will happen imminently. Inter reached an agreement with Real Madrid worth around €40 million plus future incentives.
