Borussia Dortmund have identified Mainz 05 defender Moussa Niakhaté as a replacement for Manuel Akanji should Leicester City make advances in their pursuit of the Switzerland international, according to Bild.
With the recent signing of 19-year-old Saint-Étienne defender Wesley Fofana, it’s unlikely that Leicester City will make another significant purchase in central defence but BVB have already found a possible replacement, should that happen.
Napoli, AS Roma and Stade Rennes have also shown interest in the Frenchman, who would be allowed to leave Mainz if they receive a fee of around €15 million.
