Thorgan Hazard to leave Borussia Mönchengladbach

Borussia Mönchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl has confirmed that Belgium international Thorgan Hazard doesn’t want to extend his contract with the Bundesliga club.

“He wants to leave Borussia after five years because he wants to take the next step for himself,” said Eberl.

“We signalled to him long ago that we would like him to sign a contract extension, but he hasn’t responded to that. He’s got a contract with us and there’s no exit clause in it. Any interested parties must offer us a transfer fee that does justice to his value as an outstanding attacking player in the Bundesliga and one who is a regular starter is one of the best national teams in the world.”

Kicker have already reported that Borussia Dortmund are set to sign Hazard from Gladbach for €40 million.
