VfB Stuttgart have dismissed sporting director Michael Reschke with immediate effect. Former midfielder & Germany international Thomas Hitzlsperger has been appointed as the club’s new head of sport.
“Due to the negative sporting development in recent months, I understand the decision of the supervisory board, even if I would have liked to continue working for VfB Stuttgart. I still believe in the potential of the team. But the fact is that the sum of my decisions has not let to the desired and expected result,” said Reschke.
Stuttgart currently find themselves languishing in 16th.
